About The Position

The Field Safety Facilitator II supports safety on construction work by applying OSHA requirements and company and site safety rules. The role requires interpreting complex safety and regulatory documents, identifying and resolving safety risks, and influencing others while working through difficult situations and conflict. The position has no direct reports. The employee must be able to work at heights, perform physical activities, work outdoors in changing weather, and wear required personal protective equipment. Reliable transportation and rain gear are required.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least 5 years of experience as a safety facilitator or in an equivalent position, or experience in a supervisory field position with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties.
• Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and how to apply them to construction work; ability to learn and apply company and site safety rules.
• Ability to read and properly interpret complex documents, including company safety policies, client safety documents, and government requirements such as OSHA and MSHA documents.
• Good leadership skills and ability to work under difficult situations, influence others, and deal with conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve issues, including safety risks.
• Ability to perform basic computer functions, including word processing and working with spreadsheets.
• Willingness to follow all company directives and safety procedures.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including lifting and working outdoors in changing weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Current Zachry or Zachry ROF’ed employee.
• Former experience working with Zachry Industrial, Inc.
• Experience as a craft worker and/or craft supervisor on an industrial construction project.
• Certification or training in one or more of the following: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, OSHA, confined space (competent person), excavation (competent person), NCCER Field Safety, NCCER Safety Technology, and/or BCSP certification.
