About The Position

The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring Field Representatives in Red River Parish, LA. This role involves conducting interviews primarily in person (door to door) and, when requested, via phone to collect survey or census data within an assigned geographic area. The Field Representative will communicate with respondents, supervisors, and other relevant individuals. A key part of the job is understanding survey materials to explain the purpose of surveys, ask questions exactly as worded on the questionnaire or survey instrument, and accurately enter complete information into a laptop computer or onto survey forms. Additionally, the role requires maintaining personal payroll records for hours worked, miles driven, and reimbursements claimed for travel and communications. Training, which may be in-person or online, must be completed as necessary.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Must be able to attend mandatory training.
