The Field Reimbursement Specialist (FRS) serves as a subject-matter expert on reimbursement, access, and coverage issues, helping patients access specialty medications by educating healthcare providers and office staff about complex insurance and reimbursement processes and resolving access barriers. The FRS acts as a liaison between providers, manufacturers, pharmacies, and payers, and provides education specific to a specialty medication. Expertise in pharmacy benefit reimbursement, prior authorizations, appeals, and specialty pharmacies is essential because the supported medication is typically covered under pharmacy benefits. This is a national position. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance of a major airport and be able to provide territory coverage as needed across the United States. The role requires weekly travel, potentially including overnight stays, to healthcare offices within a designated territory. The FRS uses expertise in coverage, patient assistance, and health policy to educate office staff and address access challenges. Cencora describes its culture as inclusive and purpose-driven and offers compensation, benefits, and resources supporting team members’ wellness and development. The position is full-time, with a national-average salary range of $94,500–$148,060; the actual range may vary by locale.
