About The Position

This role is field-based and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience. This territory covers the state of Colorado. The Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) acts as an alternative in-office resource that is available to address HCP questions about patient access. The FRM calls directly on HCP offices in their assigned, specific geography to answer questions about patient access & reimbursement in support of the AbbVie Immunology portfolio. The FRM provides expertise on coverage and common access and reimbursement challenges affecting AbbVie Immunology Dermatology products. The FRM responsibilities include educating on the access and reimbursement support tools available from AbbVie, advising HCPs on patient prescription status and program eligibility, and educating HCP offices on payer processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
  • Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor’s degree is at least five (5) years of experience with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required
  • Proven track record of leadership success and solid presentation skills. Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; possesses strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proactively identifies customer style / behavior and adapts quickly all aspects of selling approach. Operates effectively in a matrix environment.
  • An essential requirement of your position is to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements to gain and maintain entry into facilities and organizations that are in your assigned territory. You must also be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials.
  • These HCIR credentialing requirements may include, but are not limited to, background checks, drug screens, proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases, fingerprinting and specific licenses required by individual state or cities. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you satisfy all HCIR credentialing requirements and for any associated liability for failing to do so. AbbVie has resources to answer questions you may have regarding your responsibilities.
  • Valid driver’s license: Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements. Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment.

  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experiences such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing preferred.

  • English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries).

Responsibilities

  • Educate HCPs on patient support programs, including access and reimbursement support tools and services
  • Educate on product-specific acquisition and access options such as specialty pharmacy networks and specialty distribution
  • Educate on resources available to address access issues
  • Provide local expertise regarding national/regional payor policies to educate providers on payer issues, coding changes, and appropriate claims submission processes
  • Liaise with AbbVie’s Access and Reimbursement support center to update HCPs on Rx status and program eligibility
  • Report back payer trends related for approved products to Patient Services and MHC account management teams
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate providers within territory
  • Remain current on key managed care, reimbursement, and policy activities
