About The Position

National General is seeking an Experienced Field Property Adjuster to handle complex homeowner property claims throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area. In this role, you will investigate losses, determine coverage, assess damages, prepare detailed repair estimates, and negotiate claim settlements while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling residential property claims, writing Xactimate estimates, conducting on-site inspections, and managing complex first-party homeowner losses. This position also serves as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced adjusters.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and confirming the facts of loss for the most complex Homeowner's Claims.
  • Determining coverage, damages and otherwise adjusting and negotiating claims within limit of authority.
  • Creating a comprehensive estimate of damages for the most complex first party homeowner claims leading to the proper disposition.
  • Serving as a peer mentor and potentially assigning direction to more junior employees, having mastered processes and obtained technical expertise.
  • Conducting on-site inspections.
  • Managing complex first-party homeowner losses.
  • Exhibiting mastery of estimating fundamentals to create estimates of damages on the most complex 1st party homeowner losses of all severities.
  • Building mastered relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Interpreting regulatory compliance and fair claims practices.
  • Negotiating settlements, making settlement payments and documenting all activities in the most complex of files.
  • Applying mastered content in interpretations of all policy types written by the company and assisting leadership in formal and ad hoc training.
  • Recommending process improvements.
