About The Position

National General is a part of The Allstate Corporation, offering innovative insurance solutions. We provide home, auto, accident, and health insurance, as well as specialty niche products, through independent agents and directly to consumers. We are seeking an experienced Property Field Adjuster to support Northeast property and homeowner claims, including weather-related losses. This role is part of our Premier Division, servicing high-value homes with claim losses up to $250,000, covering Rockland and Westchester, NY counties. The ideal candidate will be an experienced adjuster with prior carrier experience, capable of handling claims from start to finish, assessing complex damages, and negotiating settlements with public adjusters. Strong communication, negotiation, and diary management skills are essential.

  • Evaluates settlement alternatives by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; makes decisions on best option.
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the most complex of files across multiple lines.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Investigating and confirming the facts of loss for advanced Homeowner's Claims.
  • Determining coverage, damages and otherwise adjusting and negotiating claims within limit of authority.
  • Creating or auditing a comprehensive estimate of damages for homeowners first party claims leading to the proper disposition.
  • Assessing a wide range of complex damages.
  • Working closely with public adjusters, often negotiating claim settlements.
  • Possesses a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company.
  • Possesses strong estimating fundamentals in order to create or audit estimates of damages on 1st party homeowners' losses with complexity.
