About The Position

Syblon Reid is looking for a Field Project Engineer to support our Project Manager and field crews on heavy civil construction projects. This role is an important part of keeping project work moving safely, accurately, and efficiently. The Field Project Engineer helps connect the work happening in the field with the planning, documentation, communication, production tracking, and problem-solving needed to support successful project execution. Requirements

  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent Project Coordination experience
  • 1–5 years of Field Project experience in heavy civil construction environment
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong follow-through skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable working in the field
  • Comfortable walking uneven surfaces
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to support project needs in changing environments
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, and Word
  • A current driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with federal contracting
  • Experience with HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Primavera, or AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Promoting and supporting project safety programs, processes, and safety culture
  • Preparing and tracking submittals and RFIs
  • Supporting project scheduling
  • Tracking and reporting field production, cost estimates, and invoices
  • Maintaining QC program documentation
  • Coordinating with subcontractors
  • Preparing quantity take-offs and pricing
  • Procuring materials
  • Supporting field employees and project crews
  • Conducting pre-bid and project field visits
  • Traveling overnight as project needs require
