The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) is seeking a detail-oriented Field Enumerator to perform tasks supporting the organization. This part-time position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to work from home or within your community for an agriculture nonprofit. NASDA has employed enumerators since 1972 to collect agricultural data on behalf of the United States Department of Agriculture's (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). The role is crucial in serving agricultural producers by providing reliable, accurate, and objective statistics and information that farmers, ranchers, and rural communities depend on. The job involves actively interviewing farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses either in person or on the phone, and at times, traveling to designated fields to perform crop counts. After gathering information, detailed and legible records of interviews, crop counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked must be maintained and delivered. The work is conducted from a residence with an operable telephone free from distractions, and requires maintaining a personal vehicle for travel. The job offers flexibility and an energetic nature with something new each day.
