Requirements

Current ND POST Board license OR License from another state OR Completion of a Basic Law Enforcement Training Course with satisfactory testing scores
CPR certification
Residence in Cass County, ND within 12 months of your start date
Up-to-date on state and department training and education requirements
Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to testify in court and prepare beforehand
Ability to proficiently use your assigned equipment
Physical ability to walk, run, lift and carry heavy weights, qualify with a firearm, and restrain individuals
20/40 eyesight and hearing within a normal range
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Valid driver's license
In good standing regarding the mission, vision, and values of the office
No formal discipline within the last year of the vacancy closing date

Responsibilities

Diligently patrol our county while keeping an eye out for suspicious and unlawful activities.
Investigate incidents, arrest criminals, respond to public service calls, and enforce local ordinances and state and federal laws.
Engage in proactive crime prevention efforts and keep the public informed with necessary information.
Prepare and submit reports.
Maintain your equipment.
Tackle other law enforcement duties to keep our county a safe and pleasant place to live.
