About The Position

Voters of Tomorrow is a political movement for young people and by young people. With the guiding goal of building youth political power, Voters of Tomorrow has a presence in over 25 states and volunteers in all 50. Backed by extensive research on Gen Z, we're taking the issues Gen Z cares about most into the rooms where decisions get made. Through extensive advocacy, on-the-ground and online organizing, and a nationwide network of Gen Z organizers and activists, we're making sure that as the most diverse generation, we are represented and spoken for.

Requirements

  • Have a passion for inspiring and empowering young people to get involved in the civic process
  • Be excited to think outside the box and ideate on the most exciting and effective get-out-the-vote tactics
  • Be eager to talk to as many students as possible, and be comfortable talking to a lot of strangers and potential volunteers
  • Be scrappy and flexible, able to manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Be a self-starter, exceptionally well-organized, and have strong time management skills
  • Have a driver's license and access to a reliable car
  • Be able to work weekends and irregular hours as required
  • Be located near, or willing to relocate to Des Moines, IA

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience organizing for an electoral campaign is a plus
  • Previous experience with campus organizing is a bigger plus

Responsibilities

  • Draft plans for your campus program in the upcoming cycle and help shape the overall vision for the organization in 2026
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of paid fellows and volunteers who will mobilize their peers and build a movement on campus
  • Build relationships with a coalition of administrators, student leaders, and student organizations on campus
  • Help build the systems and services that overcome barriers to student civic engagement and voter turnout
  • Manage fun, engaging events that educate students about the upcoming elections and empower them to organize their peers
  • Conduct direct voter contact and list-building through dorm-storming, high-traffic canvassing, relational organizing, and more
  • Pilot a coordinated narrative-building and story collection campaign centering young people across Iowa
  • Exercise discretion in the use of program resources in support of your organizing work
