Ovintiv requires a full-time Field Operator to fill an Employee position to support the Dawson North field. The field consists of sweet/sour well production and a gathering system’s that transport production to several process facilities in the area. The position requires strong knowledge and experience in the operating and optimization of gas wells, pipeline maintenance, plunger systems, gas lift, and well recovery methods. The successful candidate will be team-focused, with strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. This position requires daytime coverage consisting of 10-hour shifts working an 8 on – 6 off rotation. Requirement to be on call.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of gas well operation experience.
  • Operational and maintenance experience on well-site equipment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
  • Proficient in use and application of Microsoft software.
  • Ability and confidence to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong leadership abilities.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and open to taking on a variety of operational challenges.
  • Team player with a positive attitude, organizational and communication skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and make priority decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must live within 1hr of Farmington.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Working experience with plunger lift systems, gas lift equipment, Frac Communication/Recovery, well blowdown methods, wireline/dewaxing, and operating fluid gun equipment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with proven analytical, trouble shooting and problem-solving skills preferred.
  • Good understanding of liquid well optimization, compression and pipeline maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and performs safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, equipment lock-out, emergency response and follows safe work procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for corrective action if required.
  • Ensure effective communication with operations, engineering and management staff.
  • Operate field equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Troubleshoot process problems and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization by working closely with Lead Operators and Coordinators.
  • Monitor field well performance and/or facility conditions utilizing SCADA systems.
  • Always maintain superior housekeeping standards throughout the field and facilities.
  • Support the maintenance team in scheduling activities and enter required work orders to have equipment maintained to high standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation by including maintenance records, safety and environmental reports, etc.
  • Track and maintain key performance indicators such as production, costs and production losses.
