About The Position

As a Field Operator I, you will be at the forefront of oil and gas operations ensuring proper management and maintenance of all equipment related to the production and transportation of oil and gas. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems in real time, and taking ownership of field operations while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required and minimal direct training and experience.
  • Familiar with pneumatic controllers, programmable logic controllers, flow measurement, gas sampling, and chromatography equipment.
  • Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and use of self-contained breathing apparatus.
  • Knowledge of basic FERC regulations and necessary requirements.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use a personal computer and related software that meet department needs.
  • Knowledge of gas compression, water and oil tanks, natural gas engines and compressors, plant computer, and control equipment.
  • Follows safety rules by paying attention to sounds and smells to notice warning signals, equipment issues, or hazards (like gas leaks or burning materials), communicates by listening for radios and truck horns, and organizes tasks to work safely and get the job done.
  • Ability to use hand and maintenance tools.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Valid Drivers’ License and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to interact with others, to communicate clear instructions, and evaluate results.
  • Ability to safely operate a 4-wheel drive vehicle in on and off-road condition.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain field equipment including compressors, dehydrators, separators, generators, and liquid transfer facilities.
  • Monitor system pressures, temperatures, flow rates, and liquid levels to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues.
  • Inspect and safeguard pipelines and facilities against damage from environmental and external factors.
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and calibrations of measurement and operational equipment.
  • Analyze operational data and take appropriate actions or recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to equipment performance and field activities.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations (BLM, EPA, DOT), and all applicable codes and standards.
