About The Position

Air Liquide is seeking a Field Operator to safely operate nitrogen or liquid pumping equipment at local base and customer sites. Daily activities include preparation of rolling stock equipment and ancillary equipment utilized to tie into customer systems. The role involves rigging in and pressure testing equipment before operating nitrogen or liquid pumping equipment, continuous checking and monitoring of equipment, and safety and indicator gauges and systems. The operator will also be responsible for de-mobilizing and returning to base to help maintain equipment. Requirements

  • 2+ years’ experience in the operation of nitrogen equipment, pumpers and bulkers.
  • 2+ years’ experience in oil refineries, petrochemical plants, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and maintenance within the Oil & Gas Industry, Heavy Industrial, Petrochemical & /or Power Plants.
  • Understanding of the execution of Nitrogen services.
  • Class 1 driver license with off road experience and mechanical aptitude is a MUST have.

Nice To Haves

  • Educational background in Civil Engineering Technologist (CET), Mechanical Engineering Technologist (MET), Heavy Equipment Technician, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Bachelor of Technology and Technology Management, Power Engineering Technologist would be STRONGLY PREFERABLE.
  • Certifications an asset: CSTS, WHMIS, H2S, TDG

Responsibilities

  • Safe operation of nitrogen or liquid pumping equipment at local base and customer sites.
  • Preparation of rolling stock equipment and ancillary equipment utilized to tie into customer systems.
  • Rig in and pressure test equipment before operating nitrogen or liquid pumping equipment.
  • Continuous checking and monitoring of equipment as well as safety and indicator gauges and systems.
  • De-mobilizing and returning to base to help maintain equipment.
  • Operates their vehicle in a safe manner.
  • Reports any dangerous situation or accident quickly to the dispatcher and completes an accident report, if necessary.
  • Works with their team and other multi-functional teams to continuously improve the work process.
  • Analyzes their activities, identifies the causes of problems, and proposes adapted corrective measures.
  • Ensures correct information is documented to on site supervisorial staff as well as captured in Air Liquide’s Process and Piping (PPS) commercial paperwork.
  • Safe rig in and operation of ALC PPS equipment on customer sites.
  • Performs necessary tasks to ensure safe and efficient mobilization of equipment to and from site under supervision of ALC PPS Coordinators and Supervisors.
  • Has working knowledge of the service lines and products that ALC PPS offers and is able to operate and drive equipment required to perform those services.
