About The Position

Hydrovac Field Operations Supervisor Summary Responsible for overseeing field crews, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and maintaining operational efficiency across multiple job sites. This role emphasizes leadership in organizational safety practices while driving productivity and customer satisfaction; as well as ensuring proper execution enroute, exiting, and operating on job site(s). Shared Responsibilities · Ensure all team members work in compliance with company safety standards. · Promote a strong safety culture and conduct regular audits or checks. · Provision of PPE and holding team accountability for its maintenance. · Mentor and evaluate employees to support professional growth. · Maintain production schedules and resource allocation. · Monitor and enforce company policies and procedures. · Support accurate time ticketing and job documentation. · Foster positive customer relationships and assist in generating new business opportunities. · Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams to ensure service quality. · Collaborate on dispatch planning and crew assignments. · Ensure billing accuracy and proper documentation for projects. · Participate in strategic planning for long-term operational success. · This role will provide coverage for the other supervisors in cases of PTO, illness, or any type of LOA. · Communicate customer, project changes to the team in a timely manner. Defined by impact of change. · Other Duties as they cross over and are assigned by supervisor. HFS Responsibilities · Conduct job site visits for bidding, inspections, and pre-job preparation. · Supervise and mentor field crews; ensure proper execution of excavation and hydrovac operations. · Support equipment maintenance and fleet safety; assist mechanics as needed. · Monitor tool and material inventories; ensure proper use of PPE and safety equipment. · Support operation of heavy equipment (hydrovacs, dump trucks, truck and trailer, etc.). · Track and report performance metrics (driver scorecards, safety audits, etc.). · Identify process improvements for efficiency and safety. · Perform DOT OQ test, and hold team accountable for compliance, organizational expectations. · Sign off on all Staff JSA’s when at their site, project, appointment; ensure team has completed fully. · 75% On-Site or En-Route to Site Presence · Other Duties as assigned by Manager or Leadership.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industry experience, including but not limited to increased roles of responsibility and customer communications
  • Strong HSE knowledge; PEC Safeland or OSHA 10/30 certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license; CLASS B CDL required, Class A CDL preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and utility maps.
  • High energy, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently on a regular basis.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds or more with team assistance or mechanical aids, as required by job tasks.
  • Frequent handling of tools, hoses, PPE, and job materials.
  • Frequent entering and exiting hydrovac trucks and other equipment, including climbing steps and working around elevated platforms.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain, job sites, excavations, and construction areas.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach for extended periods.
  • Capable of working in awkward positions and confined or restricted spaces when necessary.
  • Work is performed outdoors and may involve exposure to all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, mud, and dust.
  • Potential exposure to water, slurry, fuel, and other job-related substances.
  • Regular exposure to loud noise from hydrovac equipment, tools, and active job sites; hearing protection is required.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for safe equipment operation, hazard recognition, and job-site supervision.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and respiratory protection as needed.
  • Ability to work long or irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional on-call or emergency response situations.
  • Physical endurance to remain alert and effective throughout extended shifts.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles and occasionally travel to job sites or remote locations.
