About The Position

Rainmaker is pioneering a modern cloud seeding system to address water scarcity and inclement weather challenges worldwide. We develop and integrate radar validation, weather-resistant UAS, numerical weather modeling, and sustainable seeding agents into an effective precipitation enhancement solution. This role involves identifying overnight seeding windows, deploying drones for cloud seeding operations in remote and physically demanding environments, and ensuring the successful execution of missions to create water resources. The Field Operations Specialist will work as part of a small team, traveling frequently to various locations, including remote or international sites, and will be responsible for the deployment and operation of equipment such as drones, generators, laptops, and Starlink systems. The job requires a high degree of self-direction, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under challenging conditions.

Requirements

Willingness and ability to work in remote, physically demanding, and weather-exposed environments
Strong attention to detail and discipline in following procedures
Reliable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work effectively as part of a small field team
Comfort with frequent travel, including to remote or international locations
Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

Experience in field operations, aviation, military, emergency management, construction, or similar hands-on environments
Mechanical or technical aptitude, including equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Experience operating or supporting UAS
FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
Experience handling logistics, inventory, or supply
Familiarity with GIS tools and spatial data (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth)
Wilderness or backcountry experience

Responsibilities

Identify and execute overnight cloud seeding missions in response to identified seeding windows.
Deploy and operate drones for releasing seeding particles into supercooled clouds.
Manage and maintain field equipment including drones, generators, laptops, and communication systems.
Perform pre-flight checks and ensure all equipment is functioning correctly in various weather conditions.
Collaborate effectively as part of a small field team.
Handle logistics, inventory, and supply management for field operations.
Travel frequently, including to remote or international locations.
Adhere to strict procedures and safety protocols.
Troubleshoot equipment and operational issues in the field.
