About The Position

We are seeking a seasoned construction leader to oversee field operations for architectural and miscellaneous metals projects across multiple job sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic. This position plays a critical role in coordinating field personnel, maintaining project schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring high-quality installation work from project kickoff through completion. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing crews in a construction environment and possesses a strong understanding of metal fabrication, installation practices, and project execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in miscellaneous metals installation, structural steel, or a related construction discipline
  • Proven experience leading field operations, foremen, and installation crews
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and resource management
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, including occasional overnight stays
  • Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards
  • Familiarity with welding methods including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • Experience utilizing construction and collaboration software such as: Bluebeam, Trimble Connect, Tekla

  • Additional supervisory or construction management training is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, mentorship, and support to foremen and field personnel across multiple active projects
  • Foster a culture centered on safety, accountability, quality, and productivity
  • Conduct jobsite visits to monitor performance, address challenges, and ensure project objectives are met
  • Assist with workforce planning, labor forecasting, and staffing coordination
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and material resources to support project schedules
  • Work closely with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to maintain alignment on project goals
  • Track field progress and communicate updates regarding schedules, milestones, and potential risks
  • Support installation activities involving stairs, railings, structural steel components, rigging operations, and finish work
  • Lead safety initiatives and reinforce adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct and participate in routine safety meetings and site inspections
  • Ensure all field operations comply with OSHA standards and project-specific safety protocols
  • Promote proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation practices
  • Monitor workmanship and installation practices to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Apply quality standards throughout all phases of construction and installation
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve field issues efficiently and effectively
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within field operations
