About The Position

This role involves participating in and overseeing field service project operations to meet established field department goals. The Foreman will demonstrate leadership, safety, integrity, teamwork, quality, and urgency. Key responsibilities include ensuring customer satisfaction, market dominance, and profitability. The position is involved in project documentation, resource planning, capital equipment suggestions, safety, and customer interface. The Foreman will perform maintenance and repair work, provide project supervision to technicians, train employees, set project goals, and assist the team in meeting quality standards. They will respond to client requests promptly, review and present monthly project reports, and interact with Engineers for technical information. The role requires ensuring effective job execution to meet cost and duration schedules while maintaining high quality and minimizing rework. The Foreman will ensure proper direction and supervision of activities in the assigned area for efficient utilization of personnel and machinery, and determine and coordinate actions needed to maintain efficiency, quality, and safety standards. The position also includes participating in the Continuous Improvement process, initiating process improvement dialogs, participating in root cause analysis, and performing periodic audits for safety, quality, standard work, and productivity. Coordination of material, equipment, manpower, safety, risk mitigation, and quality, while meeting customer requirements, is essential. The Foreman will provide work direction, assist with problem-solving, and coordinate with other departments, adhering to established standards, policies, and practices, including MSHA regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver’s license in good standing.
  • Knowledge of removal and repair of components of large mining equipment.
  • Communication skills and professionalism are critical.
  • Skills in project management and customer relations.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ Caterpillar Dealer experience in repairing large mining equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and present monthly project reports.
  • Interact with Engineers to source required technical information.
  • Ensure effective job execution to meet established cost and duration schedules while maintaining high quality of workmanship and minimizing rework.
  • Ensure proper direction and supervision of activities in the assigned area to maintain effective utilization of personnel and machinery.
  • Determine the need and coordinate actions required to maintain standards of efficiency, quality, and safety in field areas.
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement process, making sure new ideas are generated, worked and implemented, and any roadblocks are eliminated.
  • Initiate and conduct process improvement dialogs with Supervisors, Team Leads and team members.
  • Participate in root cause analysis/resolution on all forms of loss, i.e., safety, quality, production, etc.
  • Perform periodic audits for safety behavior, quality, standard work, and productivity of field team members.
  • Coordinate material, equipment, manpower, safety, risk mitigation and quality as well as meeting customer requirements.
  • Provide work direction, assist with problem solving and coordinate with other departments.
  • Adhere to established standards, policies and practices relating to quality, work execution, safety, MSHA regulation in performing assigned duties.
