About The Position

Alpine Tree is seeking a dependable, hands-on Field Operations & Equipment Supervisor to coordinate daily field operations and serve as the primary liaison between the COO, field leads, and field crews. This is not a desk-only supervisory position. The right person will be highly organized, task-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working to assist crews when needed. This individual will help ensure every team starts the day with a clear plan, the correct equipment, and the information needed to complete each job safely and efficiently. They will also act as a Point of Contact for Customers on job sites and if follow-up is required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supervising or coordinating field crews, preferably in tree care, landscaping, construction, property maintenance, or a related industry.
  • Strong organizational, routing, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to supervise multiple crews and changing priorities throughout the day.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge of basic landscaping, property repairs, or general maintenance.
  • Knowledge on how to safely operate a chainsaw and/or blower.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field employees, leadership, office staff, and customers.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone, email, scheduling software, and basic reporting systems.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to report to work early when operations require it.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and perform physical work as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist COO with coordinating and organizing the daily schedule for field crews.
  • Review upcoming jobs and determine the appropriate crew, equipment, vehicles, tools, and materials needed before leaving the yard.
  • Review daily routes and make visits to job sites.
  • Communicate daily assignments and expectations to field leads and crew members.
  • Serve as the main liaison between the COO, field leads, field crews, and office staff.
  • Monitor job progress throughout the day and help resolve scheduling, equipment, customer, or site-related issues.
  • Respond to urgent field needs and make practical decisions to keep jobs moving.
  • Perform or coordinate minor property repairs resulting from fieldwork, including fence repairs, driveway and minor concrete repairs, basic landscaping, grass seed and lawn restoration, planting and property cleanup.
  • Safely operate basic tree and landscaping equipment, including chainsaws and blowers.
  • Inspect equipment and vehicles and report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Help coordinate equipment repairs and minimize downtime.
  • Act as an active accountability officer, ensuring crews follow company safety procedures, job specifications, property-protection standards, and operational standards and expectations at all times.
  • Complete daily reporting for the COO and office staff, including job status, delays, equipment issues, property damage, crew concerns, and follow-up needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate important information promptly.
  • Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and professionalism.
