About The Position

Black & McDonald’s Southern Ontario FMO team is growing! If you are an analytical and collaborative professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. The Project Coordinator is located in Mississauga, ON and typically reports directly to the Operations Manager. The Field Operations Coordinator will assist with the execution of several facilities management projects. They will assist with the overall performance, including the management of costs, schedule, and onsite compliance while maintaining excellent relations with the employees, subcontractors, consultants and our clients.

  • University or college degree in construction engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, building operations, and/or skilled trade accreditation.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in operations or facilities management industries
  • Effective and efficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Planning, scheduling, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of construction industry
  • Basic blueprint reading
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work in a multi-tasked, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
  • Requirement to obtain TSC clearance and AVOP license
  • Own vehicle/full G driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • PMP Designation is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Project Managers, plan and implement projects in accordance with Corporate Policy.
  • Procure pricing for supplies and materials.
  • Assist with estimating and preparing proposals.
  • Coordinate permits, schedules, subcontractors, and trades.
  • Onsite setup of safety controls, site delineation, staged equipment and deliveries.
  • Conduct safety orientations and walkthroughs with onsite personnel.
  • Collect and track timesheets, pre-job hazard assessments, Project Safety Plans.
  • Equipment asset management.
  • Attend and participate in client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Conduct project closeouts and site demobilizations.
  • Provide availability for on-call rotation
