About The Position

The Field Technician plays a key role in the DwyerOmega team. Is responsible for assisting in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems and equipment at client sites. This role includes ensuring installations meet quality standards and client expectations while adhering to all safety and company guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite especially Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license required to support up to 40% travel for onsite installations, service visits, and customer support.
  • Primary work performed in an office setting with frequent computer and phone use.
  • Fieldwork may take place in hospitals, laboratories, food service environments, or industrial settings, which may involve exposure to temperature fluctuations, controlled environments, or basic PPE requirements.
  • Travel up to 40% may be required during peak periods for onsite installations, calibrations, troubleshooting, or recall support at customer facilities.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, or crouch for portions of field visits, including accessing equipment locations such as freezers, refrigerators, ceilings, or tight spaces.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and small instruments for equipment setup, installation, and adjustments.

  • Previous work experience in field service, technical support or related role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation of sensors, devices, and monitoring systems at client facilities.
  • Configure equipment according to client specifications and ensure proper functionality.
  • Perform tests and inspections to confirm proper operation of installed systems.
  • Assemble and configure products ready to be shipped
  • Maintain detailed records of installations, including diagrams, client feedback, and inventory of used equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address their needs, provide updates, and train them on the use of installed equipment as needed.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues that arise during installations.
  • Maintain and manage tools and equipment required for installations, reporting any issues or needs for replacement.
  • Employees are responsible to understand and support the quality policy and the appropriate elements of the quality management system for their areas of work, reduce, eliminate, and prevent quality deficiencies including escapes.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities related to products, process, and quality system.

  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain effective and constructive working relationships with both internally and externally.
