About The Position

The Field Operations Associate II's main function is to support Grainger's strategic vision to be Our Customers' First Choice by providing the best service each and every time to customers in helping them manage their inventory and operations. This role involves supporting Grainger's strategic vision by providing excellent service to customers, assisting them in managing their inventory and operations. The associate will begin and end their day at the VAL-D'OR, QC branch location. Responsibilities include servicing multiple customer locations on a designated route by receiving and stocking purchased product, ensuring proper product stocking levels by scanning orders as inventory is depleted, and overseeing customer inventory locations for accurate labeling and quantities. The role also involves resolving customer problems promptly, complying with safety and inspection requirements, and meeting defined KPIs. Non-route based activities may include performing machine break/fix activities, implementing territory work for inventory projects, collecting inventory data, assisting customers with staging and organizing product, and completing product relocation and discontinuation processes. Travel is required. Additionally, the associate will contribute to account growth by identifying additional product needs and opportunities with customers, and execute the onsite service component of account strategy by working with sales partners to improve customer experience and increase business.

Requirements

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a requirement
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years experience in customer service/selling (i.e., Retail / telephone / warehouse) environment.
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and dedication to customer service and sales growth.
  • Must be comfortable on daily use of technology.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with tact and diplomacy with internal and external customers and cross-functional partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong judgment, independent problem-solving skills, and understanding of Grainger’s Core Value Proposition.
  • Handle various technical and operational issues.
  • Operate in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • May require attending customers’ sites and adhering to safety requirements in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation, as it relates to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) on certain customer sites. This may include: a hard hat; steel-toed safety boots, clean shaven or trimmed moustache/beard in order to wear a close-fitted N95 mask or other required PPE.
  • May be required to submit to customer alcohol and drug screening procedures as and when requested as a condition of being permitted on such sites.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and stock purchased product in designated customer locations.
  • Ensures proper product stocking levels at customer locations by scanning orders as inventory is depleted.
  • Oversee customer inventory locations by ensuring proper labeling and quantities on hand are accurate.
  • Resolve customer problems promptly and accurately in a manner that will retain and promote customer loyalty in accordance with Grainger policy and procedure.
  • Comply with the safety and inspection requirements of both Grainger and the facility where the service is being provided.
  • Meet defined KPI’s for the position.
  • Perform machine break/ fix activities for different machines at the customer's site.
  • Implement territory work relating to planning and execution of customer inventory projects.
  • Perform data collection (related to inventory information) at customer sites. Ensure accurate information is collected to help direct the KeepStock implementation process.
  • Assist customers with staging, labeling, and organizing product at a customer site.
  • Complete product relocation and discontinuation process.
  • Help generate new orders by engaging with customer to identify additional product needs (e.g., seeks and captures “spot buy” opportunities while on site, looks for additional opportunities to add items to program).
  • Execute onsite service component of account strategy as defined by cross-functional business partners.
  • Work with sales partners to improve customer experience and increase business.
