About The Position

The California School Employees Association (CSEA) is seeking an Administrative Specialist for its Field Office located in San Diego, CA. CSEA represents over 250,000 school employees across California, providing support services in various roles such as para-educators, administrators, food service, bus drivers, nurses, and skilled employees in grounds, maintenance, and operations. CSEA is the largest classified school employee union in the AFL-CIO.

Requirements

• Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in difficult and complex administrative work
• Ability to prepare clear, concise reports and legal documents
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail
• Knowledge of operation and utilization of computer systems and related IT equipment including video conferencing equipment
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Equivalent to graduation from college

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates large meetings, trainings, events, and travel
• Maintains master calendar
• Independently composes correspondence, takes minutes, and edits correspondence
• Resolves minor computer or software related problems
• Prepares or processes unfair labor practices, arbitrations and legal documents
• Monitors field office budget, keeps financial records
• Develops and maintains databases, reports, and spreadsheets
