About The Position

Responsible for executing efforts to manage IT Rooms (IDF’s and MDF’s) throughout client locations on Long Island, Westchester, and Staten Island. The day-to-day involves visiting various sites to survey and assess current equipment in closets, document findings, create rack elevations, and assist with remediation and cleanup of the environment. This may also include providing operational support if something is failing, removing dead cables, cleaning rooms, decommissioning equipment, and sometimes installing or racking new equipment.

Requirements

Must have their own vehicle.
Willing to travel to Staten Island, Manhattan, and Westchester, with flexibility for other boroughs or Long Island when needed.
Must be willing to travel.

Nice To Haves

Experience with LVC, space, power, and cooling in IT rooms.
Experience with cable plant infrastructure solutions.
Experience with IT room remediation and cleanup.
Experience with decommissioning legacy equipment.
Experience creating/updating Rack Elevations.

Responsibilities

Executing day-to-day operational and project tasks for IDFs and MDFs.
Executing efforts in IDF’s and MDF’s relating to LVC, space, power, and cooling.
Assisting the IT room remediation team with project tasks and providing day two support for LVC remediations.
Working with local real estate services and engineering to address any power or cooling deficiencies.
Working with appropriate teams to address security concerns regarding IDFs and MDFs.
Recommending and implementing cable plant infrastructure solutions to resolve issues.
Cleaning out IT rooms as needed to bring rooms to a serviceable condition.
Performing port scrubs in IDF/MDF rooms.
Decommissioning and coordinating removal of legacy equipment from IT rooms.
Creating/Updating Rack Elevations for IDFs/MDFs.
