The Field Medical Director, Oncology East role is part of the Field Based Medical Leadership Team, responsible for delivering on field engagement strategies and tactics aligned to medical plans for their Therapeutic Area(s) and monitoring team progress toward impact metrics. They provide strategic leadership and accountability to ensure field excellence and performance through effective coaching and prioritization of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) activities. MSL managers work cross-functionally with field leaders (e.g., Commercial, Market Access) and office-based personnel. The Field Medical Director's main objectives are to demonstrate value for the business and customers via coaching, developing, and leading the MSL team aligned to five core accountability areas: Scientific Engagement, Insights Generation, Support Data Generation, Internal Collaboration, and Clinical Study Support. They also coach, train, and manage MSL performance and development to ensure excellence in execution and achievement of strategic objectives, co-create/develop TA Medical Plans, lead team execution, ensure individual and team performance goals are met, ensure continuous talent engagement and retention, ensure MSLs engage in fair and balanced scientific exchanges, and ensure all compliance and governance processes are adhered to.
