About The Position
The Field Mechanic is responsible for caring for and maintaining company machines and equipment, ensuring that co-workers also adhere to maintenance standards. This role involves diagnosing and performing repairs on company-owned equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. The mechanic must maintain a necessary set of tools for diagnosing, disassembling, and assembling components according to manufacturer specifications. Adherence to company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment is crucial. The position requires following directions from the manager regarding daily tasks and expectations for specific projects or jobsites.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of heavy equipment or other related technical experience
- Basic welding and fabrication experience
- Knowledge in automotive A/C and the ability to troubleshoot/ repair
- Must adhere to OSHA safety protocol, and work in a drug-free environment
- Must be reliable/have reliable transportation
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
Nice To Haves
- Trade School graduate, or other technical certifications in heavy equipment/ truck
Responsibilities
- Cares for and maintains company machines/equipment and ensures co-workers are doing the same.
- Diagnoses and performs designated repairs on company owned equipment including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs.
- Maintains a necessary set of tools required for job performance to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble components to manufacturer's specifications.
- Properly follows all company policies and OSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
- Follows directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project or jobsite.
