About The Position

Lane Forest Products is currently seeking an experienced Field Mechanic, who will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various heavy equipment, and machinery. The right candidate will have the ability to trouble shoot and repair basic and complex systems and must have the ability to work independently.

Requirements

3 years experience in the maintenance of heavy equipment required
Experience repairing suspensions, brakes, clutches, hydraulics and electrical systems required to perform periodic inspections and lube services.
Must possess Windows based software skills to accomplish job data entry and use laptop computers for diagnostic operations.
Valid Driver License
Travel in company supplied vehicles to remote locations, typically returning daily.
Required to supply own tools adequate to skill level.

Nice To Haves

2 years related trade school training may be substituted for 2 years' experience
should have knowledge of arc, wire and cutting techniques.

Responsibilities

Completing all general maintenance and repair work as directed by the Shop Manager.
Independently making repair decisions based on safety, business needs and resources available.
Operating the field service truck in remote and rugged locations safely and effectively.
Completing advanced welding repairs; should have knowledge of arc, wire and cutting techniques.
Operates diagnostic software: CAT ET, CAT SIS, and Cummins Insite diagnostic programs.
Operates CAT loader 950G & 950H & John Deere Excavator.
