About The Position

We are looking for a Field Mechanic to join our team and support the Agricultural Ingredients business in Livingston, California. In this position, you will be responsible for providing maintenance, mechanical, and supervisory support to the field operations. Ensuring the safe operation of field equipment through the proper overhaul, maintenance and transportation of all field equipment. This position is shop based however will require travel to provide support to Field Operations as needed. Maintains shop and equipment in good safe efficient conditions, with special care to critical equipment.

Requirements

  • Skilled, highly motivated self-starter who is able to think independently, yet work as a team player
  • At least five years of experience as a Field Mechanic.
  • Carry strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Great attitude and customer service skills. Ability to collaborate with operations team and prioritize work for the team
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required
  • Authorized to work in the US without the need for employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of repairs to include welding, fabrication, and the ability to operate a lathe to make proper equipment repairs
  • Overhaul, maintain and repair field equipment including trucks, tractors and diesel engines, as well as testing of overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency
  • Participate in root cause analysis investigations on repeat equipment/process failures for continued improvement
  • Plan work procedures and/or possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts and rearrangement of parts or subassemblies
  • This position is expected to maintain ongoing contact with the maintenance manager/superintendent, maintenance coordinator, harvest supervisors, equipment operators, low bed drivers and other maintenance staff as needed to ensure clear and effective communication regarding job activities.
  • May be expected to have some periodic contact with suppliers and vendors as directed
