About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Field Marketing Strategist serves as a critical link between corporate marketing and our sales and specialist teams. They are responsible for supporting the development and execution of the marketing plan for [insert product segment] products and services, which support the sales and business initiatives related to these product lines and categories.

Requirements

  • 3 years of marketing experience or closely related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or similar field, a technical degree, or equivalent experience.
  • High competency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; knowledge of digital communication channels, omnichannel campaign execution, and measurement practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate many moving pieces; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Embodies a learning mindset; team-oriented with ability to work well with diverse cross-functional groups; strong collaboration skills to brainstorm, share ideas, and influence key stakeholders across business groups, marketing, sales, and supplier teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to small and large groups; comfortable leading meetings and influencing individuals and groups to drive consensus and action.
  • Ability to see, talk, and hear; ability to sit for 8 hours a day.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in B2B technical marketing, ideally within industrial markets; experience working with identified vendor or solution sets; experience in electrical or industrial distribution is a plus.
  • Experience working in marketing automation platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the bridge between marketing, sales, and key suppliers within the business area; coordinate efforts and maintain active communication with internal customers and external vendor partners to ensure planning and success of marketing programs and projects.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to understand strategic priorities and new campaign content and product/service launch plans; ensure awareness within the field organization and work with field teams to identify fit and function as part of their overall growth plans.
  • Using vendor information and field initiatives, partner with sales and specialist stakeholders to define annual marketing plans and priorities that support revenue generation for the [insert product segment] business across regions.
  • Collectively develop a commercial plan for the year by segment and/or vendor; work with the field to build out initial plan ideas, fully defining for the marketing department what is to be done and coaching as needed; feed the plan into the appropriate Marketing Department queue in a timely and vetted manner and help maintain updates throughout the year as priorities shift.
  • Maintain working relationships with sales managers, specialist teams, supplier teams, and the marketing team overall.
  • Where applicable, liaise with product and service specialists to understand offerings, customer segments, industries, personas, and value propositions; develop deep knowledge in your dedicated area to help drive more effective messaging and content creation.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for marketing-related questions and requests in the field; capture and prioritize feedback from the field on marketing campaigns and events and take appropriate action.
  • Work closely with identified key suppliers’ marketing plans; understand available content and suggest assets to leverage; communicate progress and ensure commitments are met accurately and on time; support Marketing Communications by advising of changes to supplier authorizations or branding and assisting with content development and deployment as needed.
  • Supplement event definition, planning, and execution—both in-person and virtual—as needed to support the marketing events lead.
  • Maintain open communication lines with key stakeholders and support monthly and quarterly cadences with stakeholders including sales leadership and supplier partners.
  • Manage, execute, and work closely with Marketing Operations to track KPIs and provide campaign results for regional activities.
  • Track lead flow to ensure appropriate sales channels are following up on all leads in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all vendor brand guidelines are adhered to.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
