About The Position

The Field Marketing Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing a unified and consistent brand experience in the region, across all channels. This role acts as the hub, working collaboratively with sales agencies, partners, and ambassadors, while building relationships to elevate the brand at relevant distribution points. This position acts as the face of the brand in the field and provides valuable insight on industry trends, competitor benchmarking and product feedback. Responsible for supporting sell-through and driving consumer demand at multiple touchpoints, this position will focus on activating events that disrupt the market and grow brand awareness. This key marketer is the expert on Salomon product and brand identity, and the point of education for all retail staff and partners. The Field Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the growth of the Salomon SportStyle business in Los Angeles and extending out as directed. The scope of work is 90% Sportstyle and 10% Performance focused, with priorities defined seasonally by manager.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years practical experience in the sneaker/fashion industry or adjacent is preferred.
  • Must be based in or within a 30 mile radius of LA.
  • B.S. or B.A. In Business, Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute community calendar, consumer experience activations, community programming, and strategic partnerships for the category.
  • Build brand affinity and community engagement within culturally relevant clubs, organizations, and events through unique and elevated moments that align with Salomon’s brand initiatives.
  • Support national & sponsored events in territory as requested.
  • Collaborate with Sportstyle Brand Marketing Manager, Trade Marketing Manager, and Sales Director to define and align with the local Sportstyle calendar across all channels.
  • Drive and oversee special projects as required, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and communicate consumer insights around emerging sneaker culture trends and broader cultural movements within the LA market to enhance brand relevance.
  • Oversee local ambassadors to increase reach and connection within assigned territory.
  • Execute in-store/online trainings and deliver incentive toolbox on product and brand updates that build brand advocacy and support our recommendation strategy.
  • Execute marketing activations and instore take-over events with our boutique dealers and key accounts in LA epicenter.
  • Deliver presentations that will elevate staff engagement and create loyal in-store advocates for our products, programs, and consumer initiatives.
  • Support sell-through contests with identified accounts.
  • Execute point-of-purchase displays merchandising instillations and guidelines in store.
  • Ensure campaigns are executed in alignment with the consumer calendar.
  • Conduct frequent in-depth store training for retail teams within territory on new product drops, campaigns, and brand strategy.
  • Support new store openings through deep community connection, operations, and localized marketing efforts.
  • Monitor visual merchandising and teach best practices in product styling, display, and execution.
  • Lead authentic and elevated in-store events that drive communities to the point of sale.
  • Align with Performance team to identify unique moments for category cross-over.
  • Manage travel expenses and local marketing budget as assigned.
  • Use identified tracking tools for KPIs as directed (example: Replsy, Experience Platform, Seasonal Playbooks).
  • Lead, manage, and help create a return on investment model for community ambassadors.
