About The Position

The Field Marketing Specialist is responsible for engaging with the community to provide education and answer questions through in-store demos and events and communicating in-store promotions. This customer-facing representative of our product and dispensary brands in New York will build brand awareness and loyalty by creating memorable patient/customer experiences. The role requires setting up and breaking down event materials, managing the distribution/inventory of marketing swag and collateral, establishing and maintaining relationships with local community partners, and managing/adhering to established schedules in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The specialist will partner with dispensary, wholesale, and manufacturing teams, work productively with internal cross-functional teams and external partners, and manage in-store displays. Majority of the work will be centrally located to Metro NY, with some state-wide travel required. The role also involves attending scheduled meetings and maintaining real-time communication while on site. As a company brand ambassador, the specialist will represent the brand appropriately, build relationships with community leaders, and ensure adherence to the company’s core values, cultural principles, and brand sales marketing strategies. Continuous learning about innovative technology trends and federal and state laws regarding medical marijuana is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a marketing, agency or promotional setting
  • Experience in the cannabis industry.
  • Must be enthusiastic, engaging, cannabis-savvy, well organized and self-motivated.
  • Ability to communicate in an informative and professional manner.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels of the organization and with external agency partners.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and be results-oriented.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Available to work evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and rotating shifts
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a work day
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability and willingness to work in various environments including general office, extended computer/phone usage, and environments with exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, varying temperatures, motion, and noise.

Responsibilities

  • Representing our brands and products in community, retail, and marketing events.
  • Becoming a brand expert, able to answer questions about product benefits and provide product knowledge.
  • Building brand awareness and loyalty by creating memorable patient/customer experiences.
  • Setting up and breaking down tables, tents, swag items and marketing collateral in-store and other events.
  • Managing the distribution/inventory of marketing swag and collateral for events and giveaways.

  • Managing and adhering to established schedules in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while ensuring accuracy and follow through.
  • Partnering with and maintaining productive working relationships with the dispensary, wholesale, and manufacturing teams.

  • Managing in-store displays and keeping product marketing displays up to date with accounts.
  • Attending scheduled meetings and maintaining good communications in real time while on site.
