About The Position

The Field Market Engineer is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that drive growth, differentiation, and customer engagement in the Coatings segment (sub-segments include Architectural paints, and Masonry/Concrete) for NAM region. This role partners cross-functionally to translate market insights into actionable plans, support commercial execution, and enable innovation. The manager leads strategic initiatives across product management, demand generation, and value proposition development, ensuring alignment with global priorities and NAM market needs. Must be able to travel up to 50% within North America Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Requirements

  • The following are required for the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, business, or related fields
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B marketing, product management, or commercial strategy
  • 8+ years of industry experience in paints and coatings industry
  • Strong in-depth industry knowledge, analytical, communication, and project management skills with strong presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in marketing tools, CRM platforms, and digital channels

  • Experience in technical and/or coatings markets with good understanding of Coatings segment, including Architectural paints, and Masonry/Concrete
  • Exposure to global marketing or cross-cultural environments
  • Training in value-based marketing, pricing, or segmentation

Responsibilities

  • Market Strategy & Insights Develop and execute regional marketing strategies aligned with global business objectives
  • Grow the segment through new business development, share expansion, new product introductions, and application development
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic direction
  • Identify and drive growth opportunities across segments, applications, and channels
  • Portfolio & Product Management Manage product lifecycle activities, including launches, phase-outs, and portfolio optimization
  • Define and refine value propositions, positioning, and messaging for target segments
  • Define and drive regional Innovation strategy: MGPP, NPC development, NPI marketing and commercialization.
  • Commercial Enablement Lead and drive application development activities for the Coatings segment in the NAM region
  • Develop marketing tools, collateral, and training to support sales execution
  • Establish and manage relationships with new accounts, define and drive new growth opportunities in collaboration with Technology and Sales
  • Establish relationships at key customer accounts in the NAM region
  • Partner with Sales to drive demand generation, lead conversion, and customer engagement
  • Monitor campaign effectiveness and adjust tactics based on performance
  • Pricing & Value Delivery Support pricing strategy development and value-based pricing initiatives
  • Analyze margin performance and recommend actions to improve profitability
  • Ensure alignment of pricing with market dynamics and customer expectations
  • Digital & Brand Activation Lead/Drive digital marketing initiatives, including content creation, SEO, and campaign execution
  • Ensure consistent brand representation across channels and touchpoints
  • Leverage digital tools to enhance customer experience and marketing effectiveness
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Sales, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance to align marketing plans with operational execution
  • Serve as the voice of the customer in internal forums and planning processes
  • Support cross-regional knowledge sharing and best practice adoption
  • Optional: Team Leadership May lead a team of marketing professionals or dotted-line resources Provide coaching, development, and performance feedback Support talent planning and capability building within the marketing function
  • Completes other duties as assigned

  • Base Pay Range: $136,000 - $200,200
  • The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography.
