About The Position

The APS District Director is responsible for overseeing Adult Protective Services operations within the assigned district, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The annual salary is $74,960.21 plus full state employee benefits. Job-related travel is extensive. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, a behavioral science, counseling or business or public administration and seven years of professional experience in social work or social services administration plus four additional years of experience in a supervisory, managerial or administrative capacity.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one additional year of qualifying experience for each year of the required education plus three additional years of experience in a supervisory, managerial or administrative capacity.
  • No substitution will be allowed for the required supervisory, managerial or administrative experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises APS supervisors and staff, overseeing recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities, promote staff well-being, and provide coaching and mentorship to support effective casework practices.
  • Ensures the quality and effectiveness of case investigations and service plans, monitoring adherence to APS policies and best practices.
  • Review case trends, implement process improvements, and ensure that timely and appropriate interventions are provided for vulnerable adults.
  • Collaborate with community partners, law enforcement, healthcare providers, and social service agencies to strengthen service coordination and advocacy efforts.
  • Interprets and enforces APS policies and legislative mandates, ensuring the district remains compliant with all applicable regulations while staying informed about policy changes, implement necessary adjustments, and develop corrective action plans when required.
  • Involved in data management and reporting, analyzing district performance metrics to identify trends and inform decision-making.
  • Prepares reports for leadership and stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of APS casework.
  • Manage district resources efficiently, advocating for necessary funding, staffing, and support to meet APS demands while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
