Impact you'll make: The Test Engineer is responsible for providing test capabilities including the application of instrumentation and the acquisition of engineering test data to support the Gas Turbine New Products Introduction Department, the Gas Turbine Engineering Department, and the other departments of in the development of new gas turbine products and resolution of Gas Power System’s customer technical complaints. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with Gas Turbine NPI Instrumentation (New Product Introduction).
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • Must be able to work 100% onsite in Greenville, SC
  • Knowledge and applicable experience with instrumentation used in the measurement of temperature, pressure, dynamic pressure, strain, Rotor Dynamics, aeromechanics, and other related parameters associated with gas turbine development tests.
  • Documenting test hardware and parameters per established quality procedures.

  • Product knowledge of GE gas turbines, generators, Steam Turbines, and Aeroderivative units.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the hardware modification process, ensuring correct instrumentation methodology is followed by Technicians and suppliers.
  • Assisting in the development and documentation of Hardware Modifications.
  • Operation of all instrumentation and data systems required to conduct gas turbine engineering development tests.
  • Responsible for execution of laboratory and field validation testing, inspection and data acquisition for use in the design and validation of products and services.
  • Responsible for design and construction of test facilities, test rigs, instrumentation systems, and the development of test software.
  • Continued broadening of technical knowledge and skills to execute policy/strategy.
  • Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
  • Ability to explain technical information to team and customers.
  • Developing strong customer relationships and serving as the interface between customer and GE Vernova.
