About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Field & Laboratory Technician I-B to join their Building & Construction team in Harlingen, TX. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one (1) year of construction materials testing experience or related laboratory experience.
  • ACI Aggregate Testing Technician - Level 1 Certification (Required).
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I Certification (Required).
  • Experience performing both field and laboratory testing of aggregates, concrete, soils, or related construction materials.
  • Ability to accurately collect, record, and report test data.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to project sites as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in both laboratory and outdoor construction environments.

Nice To Haves

  • TxDOT Level IA Certification.
  • TxDOT Level IB Certification.
  • Asphalt testing certifications and experience.
  • Additional ACI, NICET, or TxDOT certifications.
  • Two or more years of field and laboratory construction materials testing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a combination of field and laboratory testing on construction materials including concrete, aggregates, and soils.
  • Conduct concrete field testing such as slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder fabrication.
  • Perform aggregate testing in accordance with ACI, ASTM, and AASHTO standards.
  • Support laboratory operations through testing procedures such as sieve analysis, moisture content determination, specific gravity testing, and other materials evaluations.
  • Maintain testing equipment and laboratory instruments.
  • Accurately document and report test results.
  • Communicate findings to project managers, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure materials meet project specifications and applicable industry standards.
