No matter the project or scope, our clients enjoy problem-solving and service that goes beyond the expected. We are looking for a Field/Laboratory Technician to join our Springfield team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong interest in the civil/structural engineering industry, with a desire to gain hands-on experience in the field and laboratory.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in using standard software applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in recording and documenting data.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with field inspections of construction projects, working closely with experienced technicians and engineers to learn proper inspection techniques and procedures.
  • Perform materials testing under the guidance and supervision of senior technicians, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Learn to collect samples from job sites and assist in transporting them to the laboratory for further analysis.
  • Assist in conducting laboratory tests on construction materials, following standardized procedures and utilizing appropriate testing equipment.
  • Record and document test results accurately, maintaining detailed records of findings and observations.
  • Support the team in preparing reports and summaries, contributing to the overall project documentation.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and testing equipment.
  • Embrace a learning mindset, actively seeking opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in construction materials testing.
