Field Interviewers travel frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants and make in-person contact with selected respondents. They discuss the study, answer questions, obtain participation, and may approach selected households without a prior appointment. Interviewers follow the Field Supervisor’s schedule for respondent contact times and administer standardized questionnaires using computer-assisted interviewing, including the collection of confidential information. The role also involves independently managing administrative duties, participating in conference calls and online training, transmitting data on schedule, and submitting accurate Time & Expense reports. Interviewers are responsible for the proper use and care of project-issued equipment and for safeguarding and tracking participant incentives and project materials. They attend scheduled virtual project-team meetings and weekly meetings with the field supervisor, participate in field observations, and keep project equipment systems updated. The work may involve working and driving after dark, variable scheduling, travel, and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
