Field Interviewers travel frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants and make in-person contact with selected respondents. They explain the study, answer questions, obtain participation, and approach selected households without prior appointments. Interviewers follow a schedule set by the Field Supervisor for respondent contact times and administer computer-assisted interviews and standardized questionnaires while collecting confidential information. The role also involves independently managing administrative duties, including conference calls, online training, data transmission, system updates, and timely, accurate Time & Expense reports. Field Interviewers are responsible for the careful use and care of project-issued equipment and for safeguarding and tracking participant incentives and project materials. They attend scheduled virtual project meetings and weekly meetings with the Field Supervisor, and participate in field observations conducted by client or RTI staff. The work may require working and driving after dark, variable scheduling, and travel to unfamiliar areas.
