About The Position

The Field Installation Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of technicians who install, program, terminate, and commission access control and video systems. This role involves performing the same duties as the technicians while also guiding, assisting, and reviewing their work. As a customer-facing position, the Field Installation Supervisor must be a personable, knowledgeable self-starter capable of making sound decisions in the best interest of the customer and Unlimited Technology. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with sales and operations departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Mastery of all Level III Install Technician responsibilities.
  • Minimum 5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
  • Certifications in Software House, AMAG, Genetec, and Lenel are high priority.
  • Demonstrate competencies in IP cameras and systems, such as Axis, Sony, Avigilon, and Exacq.
  • Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings.
  • Experienced in marking up, or “red lining” of drawings post install.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, with MS Word, MS Project, and MS Excel skill sets.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers.
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide best service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communicative Skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage direct reports.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Supervise and mentor others.
  • Possess programming skills associated with the UT product line.
  • Travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
  • Identify and resolve issues that negatively impact job productivity.
  • Act as the projects “eyes and ears” for the management team.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment.
  • Communicate all activity to the job Project Manager or Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Assist the Install team.
  • Ensure all UT and site-specific safety programs are followed.
  • Attend required product or safety training.
  • Complete performance reviews of team members.
  • Assist Program and Project Managers with weekly and monthly team supervisory duties (e.g., approval of timesheets, expenses, credit card reconciliation, PTO requests).
  • Identify and assess strengths, abilities, and weaknesses of the team.
