About The Position

The Field Inspector is an entry level position in Construction responsible to plan, organize, and direct the activities of contractors performing outside plant construction and in support of projects/programs sponsored by Electric Operations, Gas Operations, & Steam Operations. The oversight is associated with surface structure maintenance, investigation/mitigation of municipal and customer complaints and violations, restoration, facility protection line locating/site protection of company facilities/damage prevention and Electric Ops vendor programs. Ensure all work is done in strict compliance with all the applicable company specifications, standards and procedures as well as regulatory requirements. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan. Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct the activities of contractors performing outside plant construction.
  • Support projects/programs sponsored by Electric Operations, Gas Operations, & Steam Operations.
  • Oversee surface structure maintenance.
  • Investigate and mitigate municipal and customer complaints and violations.
  • Manage restoration efforts.
  • Ensure facility protection, line locating, and site protection of company facilities.
  • Prevent damage to company facilities.
  • Oversee Electric Ops vendor programs.
  • Ensure all work is done in strict compliance with applicable company specifications, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
