About The Position

The HSE Supervisor assists in the overall supervision and administration of project safety, accountability, accident prevention, and training programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 – 7 years’ work experience ideally supporting utility electrical construction/maintenance, preferably substations and associated facilities.
  • 4-year occupational safety and health degree or equivalent combinations of training and related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal state, local, and company EH&S regulations required.
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required.
  • Familiarity with basic MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) are a plus.
  • First Aid, CPR/AED training is a plus.
  • Previous safety supervisory and/or management experience is strongly preferred.
  • In the case of electrical work, understanding Minimum Approach Distance (MAD) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”
  • Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interface with project management and supervisory personnel.
  • Assist in the supervision and administration of EH&S-related activities.
  • Participate in developing and conducting staff and craft safety orientation and training programs.
  • Conduct work area safety inspections, air-sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage and personal injury investigations.
  • Document all accidents, EH&S violations, unsafe conditions, and activities. Issue confined area entry and “hot work” permits as required.
  • Accompany EH&S, health, and insurance inspections on walk-through tours as required.
  • Review EH&S-related journals, catalogs, etc. to keep abreast of changes or improvements in protective safety equipment, materials, and gear.
  • Perform additional assignments per the supervisor’s direction.
  • Participate in client calls/meetings. Assist in the development and personation information or documents for such meetings.
