About The Position
Batten University, a NCAA Division III institution and a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, is accepting applications for a Field Hockey Graduate Assistant. Batten University is located in Virginia Beach, VA, and sponsors 24 varsity sports teams, supporting almost 500 student-athletes. This is a graduate assistant position.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be insurable by the college’s auto insurance carrier

- College coaching experience
- Experience as a college field hockey student-athlete
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of the Field Hockey program including recruitment of quality student-athletes
- Scheduling
- Managing and coaching games
- Planning as well as conducting practices
- Organizing team travel
- Monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress
- Equipment maintenance
- Fundraising
- Other administrative duties assigned by the Head Coach
- Maintain a thorough understanding of and accountability to NCAA, Old Dominion Athletic Conference and institutional rules and regulations
