About The Position

Northern Clearing is looking to hire a full-time Field Heavy Truck Mechanic. This will be a full-time travel, union position with the IBEW or Operators Union. This position requires diverse knowledge on heavy truck and equipment engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, electronics, hydraulics; with the ability to diagnose, repair, and rebuild them.

Requirements

Diverse knowledge on heavy truck and equipment engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, electronics, hydraulics; with the ability to diagnose, repair, and rebuild them.
Experience in heavy-duty truck and diesel repair.
Hard worker, have a can-do attitude, personable, punctual, and safety-minded, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

Proficient skills and abilities to use computers and tablets for our work order software is preferred.
Technical certification preferred.
2+ years of experience as heavy truck mechanic preferred.

Responsibilities

Performing diagnostic, preventative, and routine maintenance on heavy-haul trucks, diesel machinery, and other heavy-duty related equipment.
Perform tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function including diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Maintain accurate service records and work orders ensuring all completed work is documented within our work order system.
Knowledge of diagnostic tools and repair procedures for diesel engines, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
Experience and knowledge with DOT compliance and regulations.
