About The Position

As a Field Geophysicist (Associate Scientist), you will be performing a variety of data collection tasks using geophysical and GPS equipment to support MMRP (Military Munitions Response Program) investigations and remediation projects. Our goal for you in this position is to gain geophysical knowledge in the field in order to confidently become a Field Geophysical Team Lead and/or a Site Geophysicist on future project sites.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in geophysics, geology, or related field and 0+ years experience
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with field geophysical data acquisition using EM61-MK2, G-858, UltraTEM, or APEX.
  • Experience with field geophysical data acquisition using RTK GPS, RTS, or SLAM positioning equipment.
  • Performing anomaly reacquisition using EM61-MK2, and RTK GPS sensors.
  • Experience with ArcGIS or QGIS software.
  • Experience with Montaj, BT Field Software, and EMClass data processing software.
  • Performing field and office tasks requiring the application of basic geophysical principles and theories.
  • Experience using MS Access databases.
  • Leadership qualities/experience

Responsibilities

  • Conducting quality control tests and collecting digital geophysical data, and there may also be opportunities to perform other environmental remediation tasks such as soil and water sampling.
  • Acquiring EM61-MK2, G-858, UltraTEM, and APEX data.
  • Conducting or monitoring daily quality control tests of equipment and methods and documenting test results.
  • Supporting the project team by assisting with work plan preparation, report writing, and data analysis.
