About The Position

The Field Generator Technician position requires working alone and unsupervised and/or with a Field Construction Technician Team and therefore this individual must be self-motivated and disciplined. The Field Generator Technician must have the ability to learn the basic understanding of the construction and operation of a cell site and cell site equipment and must be able to coordinate efforts related to the construction and operation of cell site and cell site equipment with other members of the field team. The Field Generator Technician position requires job duties outside of the normal Monday through Friday work week of 8:00 to 5:00, including before and after-hours, night work, weekends, holidays, and most days out of town and overnight. The Field Generator Technician position includes performing services and general maintenance on Generators, Transfer Switches, Air Conditioning Units and both AC and DC Electrical Systems.

Requirements

  • Completed High School or GED equivalent.
  • Two years' experience in Electrical Components and Control Devices.
  • Must have a good driving record.
  • Must be able to work in various climates.
  • Must be able to work in the field for week long outings.
  • Must be able to work an on-call schedule.
  • Must have experience in General Generator Maintenance and Service.
  • Must have experience in General HVAC Maintenance and Service.
  • Must have experience in using a Laptop and operating Microsoft program.
  • Working outside most of the time and in extreme conditions, which could include extreme cold, extreme heat, heavy rain, hail, snow etc.
  • Reaching with hands and arms, climbing, and balancing as well as kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling.
  • Lifting to 100 pounds and/or carrying material about 20% of the time.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to focus.
  • Actions and behaviors that promote a positive, supportive working environment at all times.
  • Maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Engine Operation and Maintenance.

Responsibilities
