About The Position

The Field Foreman serves as the on-site leader responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating crews and subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining compliance with project specifications and safety requirements. Our projects involve a variety of construction scopes, including: Structural and site concrete, Underground wet utilities, Above-grade mechanical piping systems. While candidates are not expected to be experts in all disciplines, successful applicants must possess extensive experience in at least one specialty area and demonstrate the ability to effectively supervise work across multiple scopes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Construction Foreman, Leadman, or Crew Supervisor.
  • Strong knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Structural/Site Concrete (foundations, slabs, flatwork), Underground Wet Utilities (water, sewer, storm drain systems), Above-Grade Mechanical Piping (pump stations, treatment facilities, process piping)
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Valid California Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening and comply with company safety requirements.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to access trenches, excavation areas, and active construction sites.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and safely perform field responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Public Works and Municipal Infrastructure experience.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Competent Person Certification (Excavation/Trenching).
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Experience with pump stations, water treatment facilities, or wastewater infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate field crews and subcontractors.
  • Assign daily work activities and monitor productivity.
  • Foster a positive team environment focused on safety, accountability, and quality workmanship.
  • Mentor and develop crew members through hands-on training and leadership.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Coordinate field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements.
  • Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining project progress.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with municipal standards.
  • Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard assessments.
  • Monitor trenching, excavation, confined space, and equipment operations for compliance.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices at all times.
  • Coordinate equipment utilization and operator scheduling.
  • Verify material deliveries and quantities.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite organization.
  • Work with Project Managers to forecast material and equipment needs.
  • Complete daily reports, production tracking, and project documentation.
  • Communicate project status, delays, and field concerns to Project Managers.
  • Document change orders, safety incidents, and quality control activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, equipment, and materials.
