About The Position

RHI Magnesita is seeking a Field Equipment Operator to support material processing and recycling operations at our Hillsborough, NC location. In this hands‑on role, you’ll operate and maintain industrial equipment used to crush, grind, and size raw materials while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production.   • Effective time‑management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, including clear, respectful interaction
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and basic quality control principles
  • Basic math proficiency and ability to monitor gauges and indicators
  • Problem‑solving ability to identify and address equipment or process issues
  • Experience performing routine maintenance, lubrication, and equipment inspections
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Comfort working at heights and climbing as required
  • Forklift operation experience and familiarity with hand and power tools

  • Previous industrial or manufacturing experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor crushing, grinding, and sizing equipment to ensure consistent material flow
  • Start, stop, and adjust equipment controls to meet production requirements and specifications
  • Perform regular rounds to inspect system performance and optimize operating conditions
  • Visually inspect materials and collect samples to ensure product quality and conformance
  • Record production, testing, and operational data; deliver samples to the lab at defined intervals
  • Identify and resolve operating issues to minimize downtime, escalating concerns to the Plant Manager as needed
  • Clean, inspect, lubricate, and perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on equipment
  • Operate forklifts to support plant operations, including loading trucks
  • Bag materials into super sacks or 50‑lb. bags as required
  • Maintain required daily safety documentation and comply with all safety protocols
  • Support additional plant tasks as business needs evolve
