About The Position

YBI Recruiting is hiring an Equipment Mechanic on behalf of one of our manufacturing clients—an established U.S. company that builds and services specialized equipment used across utilities, telecom, construction, and infrastructure industries. This is a great fit for a skilled mechanic or technician who enjoys hands-on work, variety in their day, and takes pride in supporting essential industries that keep America running.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, with a background in heavy equipment repair
  • Experience with electrical, and/or hydraulic systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical repair tasks safely.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service.
  • Ability to support customer by working overtime, when necessary.
  • As needed, provide basic tools (company policies apply).

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with aerial devices, cranes, digger derricks, hydraulic systems, or similar machinery is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing specialized heavy equipment used in power, telecom, and construction applications.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform unit condition inspections and detailed service reports.
  • Use technical resources and manuals to identify correct parts and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and customers about repair needs and timelines.
  • Uphold all company safety policies and best practices.
  • Accurately document all work performed in service records.
  • Support team goals and maintain a positive, professional attitude in all interactions.
