About The Position

The Field Engineering Specialist will travel and showcase expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines. This role offers valuable service to laboratory customers in the assigned territory. The position involves routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products. The Field Engineering Specialist will serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues and perform preventative maintenance. The role requires diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures. Additionally, the specialist will document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and focus on maximizing customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience.
  • Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
  • Ability to serve as an internal technical resource.
  • Ability to provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays.
  • Ability to maintain strong customer relationships.
