Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either an ABET accredited program in the USA or an engineering program, offered by a foreign institution, accepted as valid in the home country or the country in which the individual is practicing.
  • 6+ yrs construction experience.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provides subcontractors/craft with information and direction, as outlined within contract specifications, to allow work to proceed as scheduled.
  • Interprets technical requirements and provides solutions in conjunction with discipline engineer and superintendent, to provide drawings and data, and to direct work irrespective of discipline.
  • Performs subcontract administration of contracts as assigned.
  • Interprets and administers commercial issues.
  • May negotiate back charges and other issues in coordination with site manager.
  • May perform project controls function on smaller, less complex projects.
  • Maintains full EPC responsibility.
  • Provides technical direction/interpretation of design drawings and specification requirements as well as general guidance to subcontractors on overall combine cycle design.
  • May sign-off on field designs or re-designs performed in the field.
  • Reviews, maintains records, and responds to requests.
  • Administers assigned subcontractor(s) for compliance with contract documents.
  • Monitors construction activities for compliance with the schedule.
  • Prepares and issues extra work authorization requests.
  • Coordinates with field administrator, as needed.
  • Maintains a daily log for site record purposes.
  • Directs and/or performs quantity take-offs as required to support construction planning and invoice approval.
  • Reviews all subcontractor progress payment requests for acceptance.
  • Monitors technical service representative (supplier) logs and reviews/approves submitted timesheets.
  • Compiles and maintains construction records and list markups as assigned, or directs staff in this regard.
  • May provide support to establish site document control activities for design documents.
  • Responsible for ensuring usage of latest IFC revisions as well as intermediate changes.
  • Assists in performing inspections and verification of tests.
  • Provides supervision, training, development and performance management of direct reports.
  • Adheres to safety and quality standards as appropriate for level of duties and accountabilities.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
  • Supervises field discipline engineers.
