About The Position

WB Melback Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer to provide technical and field support on construction projects. This role ensures work is completed according to design specifications, drawings, and project requirements. The Field Engineer will collaborate with project management, site supervision, and field crews to support planning, layout, quality control, and problem-solving on active construction sites.

Requirements

Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering, or a related field
Experience in construction or industrial field engineering
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in remote and industrial project environments
Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Nice To Haves

Experience in mining, forestry, or heavy industrial construction projects
Experience with surveying equipment and construction layout tools
Experience with civil earthworks and concrete projects
Professional designation or eligibility for registration with a relevant engineering association
Bilingualism (English/French)

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to site supervision and construction crews
Read and interpret civil, structural, and construction drawings and specifications
Assist with layout, measurements, and field verification of work
Monitor work in progress to ensure compliance with design and specifications
Identify field issues and support resolution with engineering and project teams
Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and site personnel
Maintain accurate field records, reports, and as-built documentation
Support tracking of project progress and quantities
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with site safety requirements
